Low Altitude Aerial Photography Why use a Blimp or a Pole-Cam to get Aerial Photos?
Simple... Great Photos that might be difficult or impossible to get any other way. The blimp can be flown up to 400’ high in order to get a birds eye view; however, most of the time this is only necessary when getting scenery and landscape photos. The real beauty of this rig is that I can get a high quality photo in the 50’ to 150’ range. When shooting a high-end piece of real estate or a business it is better to be lower than higher. If you want a view looking straight down, then you might as well use a satellite image that is available on the internet. With these photos you can see the location that was photographed up close and still have a view of the rest of the neighborhood and, more importantly, the horizon and sky. Having the sky in a photo is a big factor in transforming an aerial photograph from that of being just an informational device that looks like a blueprint or map. Aerial photos that include the sky and horizon have a much more pleasing look, similar to what you find in most art photos showing landscapes.

Blimp Photography
Our 6’ helium blimp ball is tethered to the ground via twin nylon cords, and our ground station cart is equipped with dual reels that are electrically powered for quicker deployment and retrieval.
Under the blimp is a fully remote controlled camera mount that houses a 12mp Canon camera which can rotate the camera 360 degrees and tilt it all the way up and down. With an on-board transmitter to send a live wireless feed from the lens of the camera, we are able to see with the small video display on the ground what the camera sees before activating the shutter and taking a photo.
By taking multiple photographs while in the air, we are able to go back to the office and find the best photos that can be merged into a beautiful panoramic scene using the latest software. Call For Price.
For times when using a blimp is not applicable, or for a more affordable photo shoot, the full camera rig can be attached to a telescoping mast that goes up to 30’. This Pole-Cam uses the same camera set up used on the blimp and provides a cost effective solution for jobs where the extra height is not needed. Single Family Residences, Group photos, Events and Special Occasions. Call For Price.
